“We have noticed information that 'a Chinese torpedo was found by fishermen in Phu Yen Province in Vietnam.' In early December, the Chinese Navy lost a training torpedo while conducting maritime training in waters off the eastern coast of Hainan Island, possibly due to currents that drifted off the Vietnamese Coast. This torpedo is a general training mine and has no target,” according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
