Beijing's first themed painted aircraft for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, "Winter Olympic Ice and Snow", officially debuted at Beijing Capital International Airport on Saturday, and flew to Chengdu to complete its maiden flight.
This aircraft is designed to welcome the 500-day countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympics that is scheduled to kick off September 21, 2020.
"Winter Olympic Ice and Snow" is the first Winter Olympics-themed painted aircraft designed and painted by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and its air passenger service partner Air China.
The name of the aircraft is derived from the two mascots of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the Paralympics, each with the initials “ice" and "snow” embodies the characteristics of the events, but also shows the beautiful version of “Joyful Rendezvous upon Pure Ice and Snow”.
The aircraft was sanded to remove the original paint on the fuselage and vertical tail, then the primer and a top coat were sprayed onto the body and the Air China logo, and also went through a very complicated painting stage. After 13 days, it was finally “replaced”. (Photo: CARNOC.com)
The aircraft fuselage is painted with A/B surface design, the left side is sprayed with the two cute mascots “Bing Dwen Dwen” and “Shuey Rhon Rhon”, and the right side is written with the words “BEIJING2022”, highlighting the time and location of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
At present, the construction of venues and infrastructure for the Winter Olympics has achieved phased results, and all competition venues will be completed within the year. Event organization and competition services will be carried out in an orderly manner, publicity and promotion will continue to heat up as well.
