The Fengning pumped storage power station in north China's Hebei Province, which is said to be the largest of such kind in the world, started operations officially Thursday.
The hydropower station is designed to generate over 6.6 billion kilowatt-hours energy per year, and will provide green electricity to the Beijing Winter Olympics.
