TAIYUAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and four others were injured in a dust explosion that occurred in Datong City, north China's Shanxi Province on Monday morning, local authorities said Tuesday.

The accident happened at around 8:40 a.m. Monday in a company in the city's Yunzhou District. The preliminary investigation showed it might be caused by a welding operation.

Further investigation is underway.
