Eleven makeshift hospitals in Wuhan have closed as of Sunday, and the remaining three will close soon. Patients have recovered and been discharged, with remaining patients transferred to designated hospitals in Wuhan.
Zhai Xiaohui, deputy director of the medical management center of the National Health Commission, said authorities will soon close all temporary hospitals as more beds in designated hospitals are available. The estimated date of closing all makeshift hospitals is March 10. As of Sunday, the remaining patients are being treated in the 3 remaining makeshift hospitals.
More than 12,000 patients with mild symptoms have been treated in makeshift hospitals in Wuhan, since they opened on February 5.
