COVID-19 testing will be conducted in 12 districts in Beijing starting Friday for three consecutive days, Beijing authorities said Thursday.
It is recommended residents work at home on Friday and rest at home at the weekend during nucleic acid testing in Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Fangshan, Tongzhou, Shunyi, Changping, Daxing and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, spokesperson Xu Hejian said at a Beijing government press briefing.
Express delivery and take-out services were operating normally and the supply of daily necessities in Beijing was sufficient, Xu said.
“The so-called ‘lockdown’ and ‘static management’ are rumors and there is no need to stock up on food,” Xu said.
