KUNMING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Thirteen workers were trapped as a highway tunnel under construction collapsed in southwest China's Yunnan Province Tuesday, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at about 6 p.m. at the tunnel exit on a highway in Fengqing county under the city of Lincang, said the county information office.

A rescue team, equipped with life detectors and multi-function rescue facilities, have rushed to the site for rescue operation.
