HONG KONG, July 31 (Xinhua) - Zheng Yanxiong, director of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) met on Friday with Carrie Lam, chairwoman of the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the HKSAR.

It was the first meeting between the office and the committee since their establishment earlier this month.

The meeting at the headquarters of the HKSAR government was also attended by Luo Huining, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR and national security adviser of the committee, as well as members of the committee.
