2 medics in Guangzhou infected with COVID-19

Two medics at Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital in south China's Guangdong Province tested positive for COVID-19 last Friday, local media reported.

Close contacts of the two have been put in quarantine for medical observation, and their test results came back negative. It was initially believed that the infections were caused by accidental exposure, and the specific cause is under further investigation.

Hospital staff stay in the residential hotel for closed management, and daily nucleic acid test results came back negative. Environmental samples of the hospital were tested negative. 373,668 samples of residents from three surrounding streets were all negative.
