Beijing (People's Daily) - The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference 2019 will be held from March 26 to 29 in Boao, South China's Hainan Province, the BFA Secretary General Li Baodong said at a press conference Wednesday.

The theme of the annual conference is "Shared Future, Concerted Action, Common Development," Li said.

With about 50 official sessions, the annual conference will address the five specific topics: an open world economy; multilateralism, regional cooperation and global governance; innovation-driven development; high-quality development; and critical issues covering fields like politics, diplomacy, security, education, culture, health and livelihood.

"As a widely watched event, the BFA annual conference 2019 will provide an open, inclusive dialogue platform for stakeholders and send a clear message to build consensus regarding global governance," Li said.

The opening plenum is scheduled on March 28.
