2020 China Fights, the world’s first full-length documentary film about China‘s fight against COVID 19, was premiered at the Hainan Island International Film Festival on December 6th.
2020 China Fights collects video clips shot by journalists on the front-lines, along with other clips from different sectors of society, reviewing the emotional time of the pandemic. The film shows both bitter and sweet moments in the lives of ordinary people—the doctors, the volunteers, the mothers and the daughters.
Illustrating the bravery and steadfastness of these citizens, 2020 China Fights highlights the tenacity of the Chinese spirit and the strength of millions of Chinese people united together in a single cause.
Liu Chen, a staff member at the Film Festival, said that she felt quite impressed and moved to see people from all walks of life working together and sparing no effort to combat COVID 19.
Fu Xuanguo, the Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee stated that he expects the movie will be able to bring enlightenment and inspiration to people still battling the virus.
Wang Xinjian of China Media Group, one of the producers of 2020 China Fights, said, “As the year 2020 comes to an end, when looking back at the road we have traveled, I have mixed feelings and feel moved. We are so proud of the dedication and unity of the Chinese people. We hope that this film will inspire people all over the world to unite to defeat the epidemic.”
2020 China Fights was jointly produced by the China Media Group and the Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee.
