KUNMING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Five suspects were nabbed with 24.94 kg of drugs seized from four recent drug trafficking cases in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said Thursday.

On Nov. 2, the border management team in the China-Myanmar border township of Zhenkang received a tip-off about drug trafficking and seized 20.15 kg of drugs in the following operation.

At around 1 a.m. on the same day, the team busted another case during a public inspection, arresting two suspects and seizing 0.45 kg of heroin.

On Nov. 3, two other drug trafficking cases were cracked by the team, with three suspects caught and more than 4 kg of drugs seized.

Further investigation into the cases is underway.

According to the team, it has so far arrested a total of 108 suspects in 123 drug-related cases this year, with 729 kg of drugs confiscated.

Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking.
