Over 260 people were evacuated and no casualties were reported in a building fire in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said Wednesday.

The fire broke out in a high-rise residential building in the Yubei district of Chongqing at 4:55 pm with the external balconies from the second floor to the 30th floor burning. The main objects that caught fire were clutter on balconies and a rain shelter. Thirty-eight fire trucks and 197 firefighters were dispatched to put out the fire.

Further investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
