KUNMING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Three people have been captured for smuggling seven buffalos in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local police said Saturday.

Police in the China-Vietnam border county of Maguan found seven smuggled buffalos in two trucks during a routine check on Sept. 11 in Renhe Township in the county and arrested the three suspects.

The suspects confessed that the buffalos were smuggled into China from Vietnam, according to the local public security department.

Further investigation is underway.
