Three people were killed and 10 others were injured in a traffic accident in Changzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province Wednesday morning, according to local authorities.

The accident happened at about 10:47 a.m. Wednesday in the downtown area of the city of Changzhou. A black Mercedes Benz car lost control and hit electric bicycles in succession, the authorities said. 

Thirteen people were injured and sent to three hospitals immediately. Three of them died after rescue efforts failed. The driver, 35-year-old, is undergoing investigation, authorities said.
