At least 3 workers have been confirmed dead after a city metro construction site collapsed in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province on Monday. 

Monday afternoon local media reported five workers were trapped after the construction site on Line 4 of the Qingdao Metro collapsed.

First responders and emergency teams pulled three bodies from the worksite at 1 am Tuesday morning. 

Two workers are still missing, according to Qingdao Metro officials.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
