Eight people are missing and four have been rescued after a ship capsized in the sea near Tangshan city, North China's Hebei Province, according to the provincial maritime search and rescue center.

Hebei authorities sent helicopters and vessels to join rescue operations.

The center received a distress call  at 6:47 am Sunday, saying that 12 people fell off the ship when it capsized, the center said.
