5 killed, 24 injured in northeast China bus rollover

CHANGCHUN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A bus flipped over on Tuesday morning, killing five people on board and injuring 24 others in northeast China's Jilin Province, local authorities said.

The accident happened at 9:45 a.m. when the vehicle flipped over at a bend near Ying'an township, killing five people including the driver, said the city government of Hunchun.

Officials said the vehicle was a privately-owned bus taking 28 villagers to a scenic spot for sightseeing.

The injured have been admitted to the city's hospital, while an investigation has been launched into the case.
