Five workers have been trapped by a collapsed subway section in a construction accident, according to a statement from the Qingdao metro construction headquarters office.

The collapse occurred at around 5 pm Monday on subway line 4 in Qingdao, East China's Shandong Province. The Qingdao Metro Group and Qingdao Laoshan district launched an emergency response and started rescue work immediately.
