6.4-magnitude quake hits Kashgar, China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake jolted Jiashi Prefecture, Kashgar County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 9:27 p.m. Sunday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 39.83 degrees north latitude and 77.21 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 16 km, the center said.
