CHONGQING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed in a building fire in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said Monday.

The fire broke out in the Fuling District of Chongqing at 6:40 a.m. and was put out at 7:55 a.m. Monday, the district's publicity department said.
Further investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
