A plant explosion occurred Wednesday in Xinle city, North China's Hebei Province, leaving six dead and seven injured, according to Xinhua.

It is reported that a tail gas furnace at the Hebei Jinwantai Chemical Fertilizer LLC exploded at about 3:10 pm. Immediately after the accident, the local government and company quickly carried out rescue operations, and the injured were sent to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
