Six people were killed on Thursday in a two-vehicle collision in northern China's Tianjin Municipality that also left two others seriously injured, local police said.

Another four people sustained slight injuries in the accident that happened at about 5 p.m. when a minivan carrying landscape workers collided with a cement tanker in the city's Binhai New Area, the police bureau of Tianjin said.

The drivers of both vehicles have been taken away by police, who are investigating the cause of the accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
