A 90-year-old woman left a note for her 64-year-old son to encourage him to overcome the disease on Monday after he was placed in the isolation ward of the ICU recently because he was diagnosed with novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in Wuhan, the epicenter of the NCP epidemic.

The woman had stayed with her son for five days in an observation ward of a fever clinic before, waiting for a bed in the isolation ward.

The note read, “Son, hold on and stay strong. You should cooperate with the treatment. If the respirator is uncomfortable, bear it. I asked the doctor to give you 500 yuan ($72) and remember to ask people around to buy you necessities.”
