Air France flight forced to land in Beijing for unknown emergency

An Air France Boeing-777 from Beijing to Paris was forced to land at Beijing Capital International Airport on Friday morning following an unknown emergency.

Flight AF125 took off at 9:36 am on Friday from Beijing and was due to arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport 13 hours later, according to media reports. Reports said the plane landed in Beijing at noon on Friday for still unknown reasons.

During the entire flight, the crew may reset the transponder to a special code, of which "7700" refers to an emergency situation, such as a mechanical error or sudden illness to cabin crew or passengers. But the situation doesn't necessarily mean the plane was in danger.
