The full price for Economy class for Beijing-Shanghai flights will be raised by 10 percent, according to news site fawan.com reported on Monday.

China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Air China has applied the new rate of 1,360 yuan ($208).

Some airlines including Hainan Airlines and Juneyao Airlines will adjust their prices on July 1.

In January, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Civil Aviation Administration of China jointly announced that the scope for price adjustments will be expanded to include popular domestic routes.

According to regulations, price adjustments can only be made on 15 of the total number of market-adjusted routes for the last season and no more than 10 percent of the total number of routes for each route in each season.

The Beijing-Shanghai route is considered the domestic "golden route" with the most revenue.

From January to April, nearly 10,000 flights were made between Beijing and Shanghai, serving 2.32 million passengers, down by 7.6 percent year-on-year. During the same period, the average route occupancy rate was 89.95 percent, up by almost one percentage point year-on-year.
