Algiers (People's Daily) - Algeria received its first medical supply donation from China on Friday to help battle against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Donated by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the supplies consist of 500,000 medical face masks, 50,000 N95 face masks, 10 ventilators, 2,000 protective suits and face shields, along with 600 pairs of medical gloves.

The supplies were received at a designated facility where they will be distributed across the country.

Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Li Lianhe, said China would support the country in its fight against COVID-19.

“China and Algeria are good brothers and good partners. China attaches great importance to its corporation with Algeria in fighting the pandemic. We will give Algeria all the support we can because the COVID-19 is the enemy humanity,” Li said.
