XI'AN, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) - Two all-cargo air routes were launched Saturday between Xi'an, an ancient Chinese capital known for the Terracotta Warriors, and India's Chennai and Mumbai, according to the Airport New City in Xixian new area of Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Both services are operated twice a week by Sichuan Airlines using an Airbus A330-200F aircraft, with a maximum cargo capacity of 65 tonnes.

"In the past, goods imported from India had to be transshipped from other cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Incheon in the Republic of Korea or Thailand's Bangkok. The opening of the new routes will significantly improve efficiency and lower costs," said Chen Yuhuan, head of the Xi'an Branch of Shenzhen Andashun International Logistics Co., Ltd.
