North China's Hebei government issued a notice approving the withdrawal of 13 poor counties and one poor district from the country's list of poverty on Saturday, marking that all counties in Hebei Province have bid farewell to poverty.
According to the notice, Weichang Manchu and Mongol Autonomous County, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County and another 11 counties, as well as Zhaojiapeng District of Zhuolu County have met the standards and have been approved to be removed from the country's list of poverty-stricken counties after each region's application, governmental evaluation and information disclosure.
After shaking off poverty, the regions should fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's instruction on poverty alleviation and follow the decisions made by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. Governments at all levels should support these regions and continue to strictly evaluate, supervise and administer to the regions, ensuring durable results of poverty reduction.
