China’s first oral anti-COVID-19 drug Azvudine has been officially added to the national medical insurance catalog, the National Healthcare Administration said Wednesday.

The price of a bottle of 35 Azfudine tablets was agreed at 11.58 yuan ($1.71), 96 percent less than a price suggested near the start of discussions, the administration said in a statement.

Twenty-one of 25 officially approved COVID-19 treatment drugs were included on China’s national medical insurance of Wednesday.
