At least 18 killed in multiple-vehicle collision in east China

At least 18 people were killed and several others injured after more than 30 vehicle piled up in east China's Anhui Province on Wednesday.

The incident took place at around 7:40 a.m. local time and at least four cars caught on fire after the massive collision. The fire was extinguished as of 10:38 a.m. local time.

Reports said that at least 17 people have been rescued as of 11:00 a.m. local time while casualties are being verified.

Rescue is still ongoing and an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
