PCR test results are no longer needed for public places including markets and commercial buildings under amended prevention rules in Beijing, local officials announced at a media conference on Tuesday.

A 48-hour nucleic acid test negative certificate will be needed when accessing other enclosed places including indoor dining, fitness centers, schools and medical institutions.

Beijing promised all districts will continue to provide free nucleic acid tests and continue to optimize its epidemic prevention strategies.
