Beijing CDC officials on Tuesday discouraged gatherings or parties during the upcoming holidays. They reminded the public to pay attention to epidemic prevention and control measures at their travel destinations and refrain from visiting medium- or high-risk areas unless necessary.
Officials suggested the public take short trips and chose suburban areas around Beijing, and suggested parks and outdoor venues as ideal destinations.
Residents are also reminded not to skip their vaccinations and to protect themselves while traveling.
According to the National Health Commission, 92 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported as of Monday, including 59 domestically transmitted, all in East China's Fujian. The risk of the further spread of the virus will increase as more people travel during the upcoming holidays.
