Beijing Children’s Hospital said that it has received 191 children with fevers since the coronavirus outbreak at a press conference on Saturday.

Among them, one is infected with the COVID-19 and 26 are suspected cases, said Ge Wentong, deputy director of Beijing Children’s Hospital.
Starting from January 20, on average 2,400 patients have visited the hospital’s outpatient department daily. But the number of people coming to the hospital is actually bigger than the figure as the child patients are often accompanied by their parents.
Fevers are common during the winter, Ge said. Unlike adults, children tend to demonstrate acute symptoms and experience a faster change in their symptoms. To prevent spread of the virus, the hospital has set up specific areas for fever patients so they can access diagnosis and treatment services at any time during the day.
