Beijing saw its first snow this winter at 2:50 pm Friday in Yanqing district in the capital's northern area, according to the local meteorological bureau.

Beijingers in the central urban area are expected to witness a heavier dusting starting in the evening peak period and major snow will come at night, the bureau said.

The snow is predicted to end between 5- 8 am tomorrow. In past years, the first snow in Beijing usually fell on Nov 29 but it often comes "late".
