The Beijing International Tourism Festival was held at the expo in Beijing's northern suburb district of Yanqing, with more than 20 foreign troupes bringing various performances to visitors during the holiday.

Rare plants and characteristic gardens have left a deep impression on tourists from all over the world, said Ye Dahua, deputy director of the expo's coordination bureau.

The expo, themed "Live Green, Live Better," is the world's largest expo of its kind. It opened to the public on April 29 and is scheduled to be closed on Monday.

Statistics showed that, from April 29 to Sept. 23, the expo received about 7.8 million visitors.
