Beijing metro will start a pilot with five kinds of E-tickets of different durations from January 20 to meet diverse demand of passengers. The E-tickets include single day pass, 2-day pass, 3-day pass, 5-day pass and one-week pass, New Beijing Daily reported.
Passengers with the passes can take all subway trains without limit, except the Airport Express. The E-ticket can be bought through official application Yitongxing (easy passage).
“The day pass ticket will increase efficiency,” said an official of Beijing Transportation Department. “Buying tickets online before getting on the train can help avoid long queues at ticket counters.”
The multiple day pass can meet diverse demand of passengers, especially tourists who don’t have to spend time buying tickets again and again. The prices of the pass are 20 yuan, 30 yuan, 40 yuan, 70 yuan and 90 yuan respectively.
The pass tickets are not eligible for a discount offered by the preferential system of the Beijing public transportation, which gives a passenger 20 percent off after spending 100 yuan on public transportation in a calendar month. The ticket is not refundable.
