The construction of a railway station along the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway is closer to completion after its main steel structure was completed on Wednesday, according to China Railway Beijing Group Co Ltd.
Located at Haidian district in Beijing, Qinghe Railway Station is the largest train station by floor area on the railway line.
It will be also a transfer station for subways and buses in Beijing when put into operation in 2019.
The railway, linking Beijing and Zhangjiakou in north China's Hebei province, is a major transportation project for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and is expected to be put into use at the end of next year.
