The Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway will be opened for operation next Monday, which is expected to facilitate the integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and provide a transportation operation service guarantee for the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.

The tickets for the Beijing-Zhanghai High Speed Rail will be on sale at 6:00 pm on December 28. Travelers can check the "China Railway" WeChat and Railway 12306 websites, WeChat, and clients for details.

The 174-kilometer railway will shorten the travel time between Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province to 50 minutes from the current three hours or more. It will be an essential part of the transportation system for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

The railway will be the smartest one in the country, as it is supported by 67 smart technology projects, including autopilot and auto-dispatching systems.

According to previous reports, railway authorities said that the train can automatically start, run between stations, adjust its timing according to the schedule, accurately stop at a station, and open and close its cars' doors.

The railway authorities said that a variety of intelligent robots will be used at high-speed rail stations to guide passengers and help them carry their baggage. In addition, cloud computing and big data will be adopted to accelerate the development of transportation in the area.
The line will also connect with the Zhangjiakou-Hohhot high-speed railway, cutting travel time from Beijing to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, from nine to three hours.
