A steel box girder is lifted to be installed into the permanent bridge of the Huangmugang transport hub in Futian District on Wednesday.

With the first steel box girder in place, the construction of the long-span bridge has officially entered the installation stage. Straddling Huafu Road and Nigang Road West, the 289.9-meter-long bridge is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of this year.

The Huangmugang transport hub, a major livelihood project in Shenzhen, has a total construction area of about 244,200 square meters and will bring together Metro Line 7, the under-construction Metro Line 14 and the planned Metro Line 24.

The transport hub is expected to be put into use next year.
