It's business as usual for Chinese Basketball Association President Yao Ming, and there is no change, it says.

Yao was elected CBA president in early 2017, when China was searching for new superstars and more glory for its national team. Yao has made a series of proposals regarding reform of the national team, professional league operation and cultivation of young players.

At the just-concluded Asian Games in Jakarta, the Chinese team won four gold medals in the men's, women's and 3x3 basketball categories. Yao led the Chinese team and was regarded as the biggest contributor to their success.

China failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and fans have often been left disappointed with the national team's performance.
