The presentation, At the Moment-Getting Together to Celebrate New China's 70th Birthday, will transmit the spectacular scenarios of the grand gathering, the military parade and pageantry, among the most significant celebrations for the 70th birthday of the People's Republic of China held in Beijing on Tuesday.

It is designed to provide an immersive experience for theatergoers through a breakthrough combining television and film technologies that will transfer live footage in the 4K ultra-high definition format through satellites onto big screens in theaters as well as transmit via 5.1 surround sound systems.

A total of 70 cinemas-including 16 theaters in Beijing and 15 in Shanghai, across more than 10 provinces and municipalities-will provide audiences with a visual and auditory feast.

The project is jointly organized by China Media Group, the country's largest broadcaster, and China Film Administration, the top regulator of the sector.

Shen Haixiong, president of the group, said the project exemplifies the group's efforts to use the most advanced technologies, which he called"5G network plus 4K ultra-high definition" and "8K super hi-vision plus artificial intelligence", to build a new strategic framework.

Camera operators from the group who will shoot and broadcast the National Day events were sent to make checks in the field and hold rehearsals six months ago, according to organizers.

Experts said the project will bring a change to the Chinese television and cinema industries.
