The ID badge will serve as a certificate for coast guards to perform maritime rights protection and law enforcement duties and exercise corresponding powers on behalf of the country in accordance with the law.

It consists of a leather holder and an ID card, both of which are indispensable and can only be effective when used at the same time, according to the CCG.

The badge is mainly issued to CCG personnel who are engaged in front-line maritime rights protection and law enforcement as well as related management. It is only used by the badge holders when carrying out maritime rights protection and law enforcement tasks.

To ensure the normal operation of law enforcement for maritime right protection, CCG officers who are qualified for law enforcement and with valid badges such as those for police, fishery administrative law enforcement or marine law enforcement inspection shall continue to carry out their work with their original certificates before they are issued CCG badges, the CCG said.
