China's foreign ministry slammed the US for bullying Chinese companies in the field of technology on Wednesday.
"The US has stretched the concept of national security, abused export control measures, engaged in discriminatory and unfair treatment against foreign companies, and politicized and weaponized commercial and technological issues," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
"The US has grossly violated the normal bilateral commercial cooperation, undermined the principles of market rules and international economic and trade orders, and threatened the stability of global industrial and supply chains."
These actions were not in the interests of China, the US or the world, Wang said.
"What the US has done was an act of economic coercion and bullying in the field of technology," he said. "China will firmly safeguard the legitimate and legal rights and interests of Chinese companies."
