China has rebuked an allegation by White House top economic adviser Peter Navarro that it is hoarding personal protective equipment (PPE) and profiting from its sale during the coronavirus outbreak.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said China has shipped a large quantity of PPEs to the US since March 1, including nearly 1.9 billion face masks of all standards and nearly 5,000 ventilators that are life-saving to critically-ill patients.

The United States needs to stop groundless accusations and concentrate more on the response to its domestic outbreak, Geng added.
