The China-Europe Railway Express operated more than 1,000 journeys a month for nine months in support of global anti-COVID-19 cooperation, the industrial supply chain and Sino-European trade, China Railway Group (CREC) said in a statement on Friday.
Some 1,165 trains transported 109,000 goods in January, according to CREC statistics. Trains increased 66 percent and goods 73 percent that month compared to a year earlier.
CREC responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by rejigging transportation, improving operations and upping the frequency of the China-Europe link, according to a freight department official who requested anonymity.

Since the epidemic broke, CREC has transported 9.9 million items of anti-virus equipment weighing about 80,000 tons including masks, first aid kits, protective clothing, forehead thermometers and goggles to European countries including Germany, Poland and Belgium.
China Railway Group said it would continue to optimize the quality and efficiency of its all-weather green trading link with Eurasia.
The China-Europe Express links countries, enterprises and people in a new development pattern for services and continues to contribute to the construction of China’s Belt and Road project.
