BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- China has begun to examine and repair railway equipment nationwide as railway passenger flow is running at a low level amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.

The renovation will further improve the quality of equipment to secure safe and smooth operation of the railway system.

The group has organized 550,000 employees to participate in the examination which is expected to be finished by June 30.

Strict measures will be taken to ensure that the employees are equipped with anti-epidemic necessities during the checks, said the company.
