China pays close attention to and is fully aware of the situation in which two US warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait and has voiced concerns to the US side, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said Monday at a routine press briefing.

China demands that the US abide by the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiques and properly handle issues related to Taiwan, not to hurt Sino-US relations and the peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, Geng said.
