Jointly issued by four departments including the National Health Commission, the circular banned the unauthorized use of keywords related to prominent hospitals in registering medical institutions.

According to the circular, the name of a medical institution shall be in line with its service category and shall not contain words against public interest.

To facilitate coordination on the subject, the circular urged local health, civil affairs and market regulation authorities to establish mechanisms of information sharing and law enforcement.

It also called for efforts to improve channels for public complaints to find out and rectify such problems.
