“China has closely monitored the entire process of US warships traversing the Taiwan Strait, and has expressed concern to the US side,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a media briefing on Friday in Beijing.
“The Taiwan question is the most important and sensitive issue in Sino-US relations. We urge the US to earnestly abide by the One-China policy and the three Sino-US joint communiques. We also suggest the US carefully handle the Taiwan-related questions in a prudent manner so as not to damage Sino-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits. This is a principle and a stance,” she stressed.
